Return Policy for Domestic, U.S. Orders

Your packing slip provides specific return instructions and addresses — please refer to it for details.

Most Items
Returns in their original, new condition are accepted within 30 days of the date that you received your order. Books (in new condition), DVDs and CDs (in their original, unopened, shrink-wrapped condition), and Toys & Games can be mailed with the original packing slip to:

Items That Cannot Be Returned
We are unable to accept returns for magazines, downloadable PDFs, gift cards, and shrink-wrapped items that have been opened. 

For your return, you will receive a credit in the amount that you paid, excluding any promotional discounts, shipping costs or gift wrapping fees.  New, unused items may also be exchanged for like or lesser priced merchandise

PLEASE NOTE: Per our return policy, items received in worn, or otherwise unsellable condition (including removal of any shrink wrap, books with bent bindings, wrinkled or bent or torn pages or stains and smudges) may be, at our sole discretion:
    1) Rejected for Return, and returned to sender,
    2) Store Credit issued,
    3) or Subject to 20% restocking fee.

Return Policy for Orders placed from Outside the U.S.

Unfortunately, due to the time and customs complexities involved, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on items ordered from outside the United States. Orders placed outside of the United States will be treated as Final Sales and cannot be returned or exchanged.

Exceptions and Final Sale Items

In the event of special promotions or discounts, SmartMouthLearning.com reserves the right to apply additional rules. Those rules will be posted on the relevant promotions pages at the time the offer is valid.

Please note that any items marked FINAL SALE cannot be returned or exchanged under any circumstances. No store or account credits will be allowed on Final Sale merchandise.  

The few things you can’t send back include: 

  • items discounted for final sale
  • personalized or custom items, including pants hemmed to your specifications.
  • holiday-themed items after the holiday has passed
  • underwear and swimwear
  • clearance items with discounts over 50% off
  • Items shipped outside of the United States
Please note that shipping and gift wrapping charges are NOT refundable.
